How easy is it to Sign Online?
The long version for folks like me who like to know what to expect:

Just click the link in your email, and you will join the online notary session.

As you join, you may be asked to enter your payment information. You will not be charged yet. Sometimes, such as if a third party is making the payment, invoicing is sent separately.

You will be asked to confirm your consent to be recorded. I will be on audio and video with you from here! Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Enter your information at the prompts. Answer the Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) questions. If anything looks familiar, such as a sibling's old address or the zip code next to one you used to live in, select that. You must get 4/5 questions correct, and you have two tries to get it right. If the authentication fails, we have to wait 24 hours to try again, though I may have other options to offer you.

Once you've passed the KBA, you will be asked to take photos of your ID. You will not be able to upload an existing picture, because the system is also testing whether you have it in your possession right now - just like an in-person notary would need to do.

After you take a quick oath, we will go through the documents page by page to verify the information is correct. You will enter your electronic signature, either by drawing or typing it, and consent to use it as an e-signature just like writing on paper. I will fill out the notary blocks as we go so you can witness it happening (an important part of the notarial process!).

Once everything is signed and complete, you'll have a chance to ask any further questions before we end the session. Stay until you're kicked out - I have to be the one to complete the session, and the signers have to be there for it to finish.

If you entered your payment information, you will now be charged for the services used according to the fee schedule. If you were sent an outside invoice separately, you will need to pay it now. Your documents will be sent automatically by email as soon as payment has cleared.

If I have been contracted by a third party who is paying, your documents will be released immediately.
When you say anywhere...
You will need a stable internet connection.
If your internet connection is spotty, it causes problems. At best, it just won't work. At worst, it comes across as AI glitches and your account may be flagged for fraud.
We don't want that!
If you're not sure about your internet connection, we can do a trial run of your appointment before committing to a time. Or if we decide it's just not working mid-appointment, we can come back to it later.
You will NOT be charged until your notarization is complete.
