How easy is it to Sign Online?

The long version for folks like me who like to know what to expect:

  • Click the link in your email, and you will join the online notary session via video feed.

  • You will be asked to confirm your consent to be recorded. Your notary will be on audio and video with you from here! Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

  • Enter your information at the prompts. Answer the Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) questions. If anything looks familiar, such as a sibling's old address or the zip code next to one you used to live in, select that. You must get 4/5 questions correct within 2 minutes, and you have two tries to get it right. If the authentication fails, we have to wait 24 hours to try again, though your notary may have other options to offer you.

  • Once you've passed the KBA, you will be asked to take photos of your ID. You may be able to upload an existing picture, but do have the physical ID handy as your notary will need to confirm you have it physically present.

  • After you take a quick oath, you will have a chance to go through the documents page by page to verify the information is correct. You will have electronic "blanks" or fields to fill in any information that may be missing.

  • Once you're ready to sign, you will be asked to enter your electronic signature, either by drawing or typing it, and consent to use it as an e-signature just like writing on paper. The notary will fill out the notary blocks as we go so you can witness it happening (an important part of the notarial process!).

  • After everything is signed, if you are being billed directly your notary will finalize your invoice and send it to you via email. Please pay your invoice promptly so we may proceed. When the notary has been hired by a third party, such as a title agency, the invoice will be sent to that third party directly.

  • You'll have a chance to ask any further questions before we end the session. Stay until you're kicked out - the notary must complete the session, and the signers have to be there for it to finish compiling the documents.

  • After the platform ends the session, your documents will be released immediately. You will receive an email with a link to download them. When the notary has been hired by a third party we will also send the documents to them.

And that's it!

When you say anywhere...

You will need a stable internet connection.

If your internet connection is spotty, it causes problems. At best, it just won't work. At worst, it comes across as AI glitches and your account may be flagged for fraud.

We don't want that!

If you're not sure about your internet connection, we can do a trial run of your appointment before committing to a time. Or if we decide it's just not working mid-appointment, we can come back to it later.

You will NOT be charged until your notarization is complete.

A woman with light brown skin and brown curly hair sits inside a camper van at a table, working on her laptop to have her signature notarized online. She wears a brown vest and black sweater. A thermos and a map are on the table, with a green landscape visible outside the window.
Young white woman with long blonde hair sits in a car, wearing a white shirt and yellow-striped pants, holding her smartphone thoughtfully—perhaps connecting with an online notary as warm sunlight shines through the window.

Anywhere

A fluffy gray and white cat lies on a white surface in the foreground, while a person in white socks sits on a couch behind it, using a laptop—perhaps working on document translations. The scene appears cozy and relaxed.

Don't disturb the cat

A young woman with medium brown skin and black kinky hair rests her head on a desk beside an open laptop, looking tired or contemplative, perhaps after a late night online notary session, with one hand closing the device in a dimly lit room.
