Michigan Notary Association brings you: Deed Fraud Alerts. Sign up for alerts from your county if your property’s deed information changes. We have very limited fraud prevention methods in place – one bad actor can land you in legal squabbles for years. Learning about deed actions quickly can help reduce the hassle and time spent regaining ownership of your property. Living outside Michigan? Check your state’s or county’s website to see if deed alerts are available, and if not: ask why.

Did you know? You can set up trusts and representative agents for pets if you’re incapacitated or out of town. The trust money can be used for vet services if there’s an emergency, so your pet-sitter doesn’t have to factor their own budget into deciding whether to seek medical care for your furry friends. Need an estate planner? I can confidently recommend Jarvis & Strauss.

Pride Month is approaching. Your annual paid subscription to this newsletter buys one wedding for LGBTQIA+ folks who could otherwise not afford one. I was really hoping to do a pop-up tent during Ypsi Pride this year, but we just bought a house and June is moving month. So stay tuned for one in October to celebrate Coming Out day! In the meantime, if you know someone who wants a simple, intimate, elopement-style ceremony or marriage certificate signing, appointments are available!

Speaking of appointments, my online booking calendar is working beautifully. If you find yourself remembering that appointment you’ve been meaning to make at 3am, when I have MY most inspired thoughts, please feel free to book a call or request an appointment with me.

If ever there was any doubt, let it be cleared up: We can’t thank you enough for your support. Every like, comment, share, and save of our posts helps this mission reach further to find those who need us. Follow On My Way Michigan on your favorite social media platform.

FAQ Friday: When is the next drop-in hour? Follow the calendar linked on our events page to be kept up to date on drop-in hours throughout the summer. I will be available in front of Rutherford pool for “no travel fee” appointments for most of the summer on select evenings (7:30pm-9pm), but with a high risk of swim practice cancellations I’m hesitant to add them to the calendar.

Memorial Day Hours: On My Way Michigan will be closed as of 4pm Sunday May 25 for Memorial Day. We will reopen at 8am Tuesday May 27.

Once we reach 100 subscribers to our newsletter, paid subscriber benefits kick in. Be a part of something special by sharing this publication!
