FAQ Friday: Can’t I just get stuff notarized at the bank? Sure! But will they notarize a document that they’re not a party to? More and more lately, the answer is no. I got into this business because we had a terrible time getting things notarized for my grandmother in her final years. Trying to get her out of the house for it only to find “oh that person isn’t in right now,” or “we don’t notarize those.” Trying to get mobile notaries to answer the phone, make an appointment, and show up to it was impossible even before the pandemic hit, and that really took its toll.
